European Parliament adopted the European Fund for Stretegic Investment
- Category: News
The European Parliament adopted at 24th of June 2015 the European Fund for Strategic Investment after reaching an agreement with the Council. In November 2014, the Commission proposed "An Investment Plan for Europe". The Plan is based on three mutually reinforcing strands. First, the mobilisation of at least EUR 315 billion in additional investment over the next three years, maximising the impact of public resources and unlocking private investment. Second, targeted initiatives to make sure that this extra investment meets the needs of the real economy. And third, measures to provide greater regulatory predictability and toremove barriers to investment. So far it’s open how the investment plan will be used to invest in education and research and if the plan will help to tackle youth unemployment.
In September 2015 the Fonds should be applicable.
