From the 24st to the 27th of July the Social Institute of the archdiocese Paderborn from Dortmund is going to hold an international congress in Brussels. The congress offers alumni of it´s annual summerschool for seminarians on catholic social teachings an opportunity to reunite again to discuss the current role of the church in Europe. The congress intends to stimulate reflection on the role of church in the uniting of Europe and the social responsibility of clergymen. Discussions with EU representatives will raise awareness on the significance of the european idea for peaceful and supportive societies.  His eminence Peter Cardinal Turkson, first prefect of the dicastery for promoting integral human development,  will participate in the congress. Since 2007 220 seminarians have participated in the annual summer school of the Social Institute.

The European Office actively supports the Social Institute in various aspects of the implementation of the congress.
